About Am I ADHD

We are on a mission to make ADHD assessment and diagnosis accessible, affordable, and judgement-free for every Australian adult who needs it.

Our Mission

Bridging the gap in Australian ADHD care

For too long, Australian adults seeking an ADHD assessment have faced overwhelming barriers: six-month waitlists, prohibitive costs, and a healthcare system that was never designed with neurodivergent brains in mind. Many people spend years — sometimes decades — wondering why everyday tasks feel so much harder than they should.

Am I ADHD was founded to change that. We believe that every Australian adult who suspects they may have ADHD deserves a clear, timely, and evidence-based pathway to answers. Our service exists to remove the obstacles that have historically prevented people from getting the support they need.

We combine clinical rigour with genuine compassion. Our team understands that seeking a diagnosis can feel daunting, and we have built every part of our process to be as straightforward and supportive as possible.

Why We Exist

Because understanding yourself shouldn't be this hard

Australia has a significant gap in adult ADHD services. Research suggests that ADHD affects approximately 6–8% of Australian adults, yet the majority remain undiagnosed. For women, people in regional areas, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds, the barriers are even greater.

Traditional diagnostic pathways often involve long referral chains, months of waiting, and out-of-pocket costs that put assessment out of reach for many. By the time people finally get an appointment, they have often spent years struggling with work, relationships, and self-worth — without understanding why.

We built Am I ADHD to offer a better way. Through telehealth, we can reach Australians in every state and territory. Through streamlined processes, we can reduce wait times dramatically. And through Medicare-eligible services, we can help make assessment more affordable for everyone.

Our goal is simple: no Australian adult should have to wait years to understand how their brain works.

Our Values

What guides everything we do

These core principles are at the heart of every assessment, every interaction, and every decision we make.

Evidence-Based

Our assessments are grounded in the latest clinical research and follow best-practice diagnostic guidelines. We use validated screening tools and structured clinical interviews endorsed by leading ADHD professional bodies to ensure every diagnosis is thorough and accurate.

Accessible

We believe geography and finances should never stand between someone and an ADHD assessment. Through Australia-wide telehealth and Medicare-eligible appointments, we are working to make diagnosis available to every adult who needs it — no matter where they live.

Judgement-Free

There is no wrong time to seek an assessment. Whether you are 25 or 65, whether you struggled at school or excelled — your experience is valid. Our clinicians create a safe, supportive space where you can share openly without fear of dismissal or stigma.
